聖心坂でコモチシダが見られます。日当たりのよい崖地に見られるシシガシラ科の常緑のシダ植物です。和名は大きな株では葉の表面に無性芽がつくことに由来します。胞子によって殖えるほか、無性芽が地面に落ちて新たな個体となることで仲間を殖やすことができます。

 

"Komichisida" ferns are growing along the "Seishin Zaka." They are evergreen ferns in the Blechnaceae family and are commonly found on sunny cliffs. The name comes from the fact that mature plants produce gemmae on their leaves. In addition to reproducing by spores, they can also spread when these gemmae drop on the ground and grow into new individuals.
