シマスズメノヒエ
校舎前の植え込みでシマスズメノヒエが咲いていました。南アメリカ原産のイネ科の多年草です。在来種のスズメノヒエに似ていますが、スズメノヒエの葯が黄色なのに対し、本種の葯は紫色です。
"Shima-Suzumenohie" plants are in bloom in the shrubbery in front of the school building. They are perennial plants in the Poaceae family that are native to South America. They closely resemble "Suzumenohie", which is a relative species native to Japan. One way to distinguish the two is by the color of their anthers: those of "Suzumenohie" are yellow, while those of "Shima-Suzumenohie" are purple.
