スズメノヒエ
校舎前の植え込みでスズメノヒエが咲いています。道端などに生えるイネ科の多年草です。外来種のシマスズメノヒエに似ていますが、シマスズメノヒエの葯は紫色なのに対し、本種の葯は黄色いのが特徴です。
"Suzumenohie" plants are in bloom in the shrubbery in front of the school building. They are perennial plants in the Poaceae family that are commonly found along roadsides. They closely resemble "Shima-Suzumenohie", which is a relative species native to South America. One way to distinguish the two is by the color of their anthers: those of "Shima-Suzumenohie" are purple, while those of "Suzumenohie" are yellow.
