イヌカタヒバが見られます。イワヒバ科の常緑のシダ植物です。本来の自生地である沖縄県では絶滅が危惧されていますが、園芸品が逸出したものが各地で広く野生化しています。


 

ミゾシダが見られます。ヒメシダ科のシダ植物です。普通は夏緑性ですが、温暖な地域では常緑性となります。胞子のう群は線形で、葉脈に沿ってつき、包膜はありません。

 

"Mizoshida" ferns are growing. They belong to the Thelypteridaceae family and are typically winter-dormant ferns, though they remain evergreen in warmer regions. Their line-shaped sori run along the leaf veins and are not covered with indusia.

 フモトシダが見られます。コバノイシカグマ科の常緑のシダ植物です。胞子のう群は、葉脈の先端に位置し、カップ状の包膜に包まれています。

 

カニクサが胞子葉をつけています。林縁などに見られるカニクサ科のシダ植物です。和名は、つる状に伸びる硬い葉軸をカニを釣るのに利用したことに由来するようです。

"Kanikuza" ferns are now producing fertile fronds. They are ferns in the Lygodiaceae family that typically grow along forest edges. The name comes from the fact that their tough, vine-like leaf axes are used for catching crabs.

ジュウモンジシダが見られます。やや湿った林床などに生える夏緑性（暖地では常緑性）のシダ植物です。和名は、一番根元の羽片が大きくなり、全体が十文字形となることに由来します。

 

 ゼンマイが生えています。草地や樹林内に生える夏緑性のシダ植物です。春の山菜としてよく知られています。葉は胞子葉と栄養葉で分かれており、食用には栄養葉が利用されます。

"Zenmai (ゼンマイ)" plants are sprouting. They are a summergreen fern that grows on grass fields and in forests. Zenmai is known as an edible fern. The shapes of the fertile and sterile fronds are different, and the sterile fronds are used as food.

 ススキ野原でワラビが出てきています。山菜として知られるシダ植物で、春になると地下にある茎から葉が伸びてきます。山菜としては写真のような開く前の葉を利用します。



"Warabi (ワラビ)" plants are beginning to sprout in the Japanese pampas grass field. They are a fern known as an edible plant. In spring, they extend their leaves from underground stems. As a mountain vegetable, we typically harvest and use the young and unopened leaves like those in the photo.

 聖心坂の斜面でミツデウラボシが見られます。明るい斜面や石垣に群生する常緑のシダ植物です。和名は、葉が３裂することに由来しますが、生育状態によって葉は単葉～３裂まで変化に富むようです。

"Mitsude-Uraboshi (ミツデウラボシ)" fern plants are found on the slope on the edge of the "Seishin Zaka." They are the evergreen fern plants that grow on sunny slopes and stone walls. Their Japanese name comes from the fact that their leaves are typically divided into three lobes. However, their leaves can vary greatly- from single to three-lobed- depending on their growing conditions.

 ヒノキ林の林縁にホシダが見られます。明るい林縁や道端などによく見られる常緑のシダ植物です。よく似た仲間が多いですが、葉の裏面の葉脈が見分けるときのポイントになります。和名は穂シダの意味で、葉の先端が穂状に長く伸びる様子に由来します。
