マリアガーデンでクロテンツキが生えていました。水田の畔などに生えるカヤツリグサの多年草です。本来は池のそばなど湿った環境を好む植物ですが、このマリアガーデンの一角もクロテンツキにとって適した環境なのかもしれません。東京では絶滅危惧種に指定されています。

"Kuro-Tentsuki" plants are in bloom in the Marian Garden on our campus. They are perennial plants in the Cyperaceae family that commonly grow along the edges of rice fields. They naturally grow in wet places such as the edges of ponds. A corner of the Marian Garden seems to be a suitable habitat for them. In Tokyo, they are listed as an endangered species.
