オオバノアマクサシダが見られます。イノモトソウ科の常緑のシダ植物です。アマクサシダに似ていますが、全体的に大型です。胞子のう群は小羽片の縁につきます。

イヌカタヒバが見られます。イワヒバ科の常緑のシダ植物です。本来の自生地である沖縄県では絶滅が危惧されていますが、園芸品が逸出したものが各地で広く野生化しています。

 

"Inu-katahiba" ferns are growing here. They are evergreen ferns in the Selaginellaceae family. Although they are an endangered species in their native habitat in Okinawa, some cultivated plants have escaped into the wild and are now found in various parts of Japan.

ミゾシダが見られます。ヒメシダ科のシダ植物です。普通は夏緑性ですが、温暖な地域では常緑性となります。胞子のう群は線形で、葉脈に沿ってつき、包膜はありません。

 

"Mizoshida" ferns are growing. They belong to the Thelypteridaceae family and are typically winter-dormant ferns, though they remain evergreen in warmer regions. Their line-shaped sori run along the leaf veins and are not covered with indusia.

 フモトシダが見られます。コバノイシカグマ科の常緑のシダ植物です。胞子のう群は、葉脈の先端に位置し、カップ状の包膜に包まれています。

 

フヨウの果実が熟していました。アオイ科の落葉低木です。果実は割れて、中の種子が見えています。種子には毛が生えており、風によって運ばれるようです。

The fruits of "Fuyou" trees have ripened. They are deciduous shrubs in the Malvaceae family. The seeds are visible as the fruits split open. They are covered with fine hairs, which allow them to be carried by the wind.

フユイチゴが実をつけています。バラ科の常緑小低木で、キイチゴの一種です。和名は冬に果実が熟すことに由来します。 

"Fuyu-Ichigo" plants are now bearing fruits. They are small evergreen shrubs in the Rosaceae family that are a type of raspberries. The name comes from the fact that their fruit ripens in winter.
