トサカホウオウゴケ
トサカホウオウゴケがオレンジ色の胞子体をつけています。ホウオウゴケという名前は、葉の形が、伝説上の鳥である鳳凰の尾羽の形に似ていることに由来します。世界遺産・平等院の鳳凰堂に据えられている鳳凰像（一万円札の裏面にも描かれています）の尾羽と見比べてみると、確かに形が似ていることがわかります。
"Tosaka-Houou-Goke (トサカホウオウゴケ)" mosses are bearing their sporophytes. "Houou" in the name, which means Chinese phoenix, comes from the fact that their leaves look like the tail feathers of a Chinese phoenix. In fact, their leaves are similar to the tail feathers of the Chinese phoenix statue in the Phoenix Hall of Byodo-in Temple, a world heritage site, and the statue is also drawn on the back of the 10000 yen bill.
