　久しぶりにクリオオアブラムシに出会いました。栗の木につくアブラムシです。
少しじっくり眺めようかと思ったらテントウムシがやってきてパクリと食べてしまいました。

　ガガンボの写真を撮りました。ガガンボは双翅目（ハエ目）に属し、もともと４枚あった翅のうちの後翅の２枚が退化して、平均棍とよばれる形に変化してしまっています。写真をよく見ると、平均棍がはっきりうつっているのがわかります。

　I took the photograph of a crane fly which is an insect in the family Tipulidae. Tipulidae possesses a pair of wings and a pair of halters, derived from the hind wings. We can see a pair of halters in the photograph.

　センブリという薬草の写真を撮りました。センブリは４つの県で絶滅危惧種となっています。
センブリの葉は苦味が強いことで知られています。口にしてみましたが、とても食べられるものでは
ありませんでした。口の中の苦味がとれず、何度もうがいをしました。

I took the photograph of the medicinal herb called Senburi（Swertia japonica） . It　is the endangered species in four prefecture. The leaf of the Senburi has strong bitterness. I ate it, but it was not a very edible thing. I gargled many times to erase the bitterness in the mouth.

今日は球技大会が行われました。生徒たちはみな競技に夢中になっていました。

A ball game meet was held today. Every student was absorbed in playing the game.

　今日は天気がよかったせいか、たくさんの虫が元気よく活動していました。
中３のある生徒は、赤トンボをつかまえて職員室まで持ってきてくれました。

A lot of insects were active probably because it was fine. A ninth grade student caught a red dragonfly and brought it to a stuff room.

　御殿場では車のフロントガラスが凍るほどの寒い朝でした。その寒さの中でランタナが美しい花を
咲かせていました。ランタナの実は鳥が好んで食べ、それに よって種が散布されます。ランタナの種は
鳥類にとっては無毒ですが、哺乳類にとっては有毒です。なぜこの違いが生まれるか、わかるでしょうか

　Lantana bloomed beautifully in this cold morning. Many kinds of birds like to eat the fruits of the flower, and the habitation area of the plants is enlarged by the birds. For birds the fruits are non-toxicity but for mammals they are toxic. Do you know the reason of it?

　正門の周辺にたくさん生えているメキシコマンネングサの写真を撮りました。
繁殖力が強く、緑化植物として植えられたものが、あちこちで雑草化しています。
足元をよく見ないと静かで着実な植生の変化を見落としてしまうかもしれません。

ヒヨドリジョウゴの実が赤く色づく季節となりました。ヒヨドリが好んで食べることからヒヨドリジョウゴと
名付けられたと言われますが、実はヒヨド リはこの実を食べることはないという説もあります。
不二聖心でもヒヨドリがこの実を食べる姿を見かけたことはありません。
おかげでいつまでもこの美しい実 を鑑賞することができます。

　富士山の写真を撮りました。山頂は既に雪に覆われています。この季節、裏門の近くの温情舎の跡地は
アメリカセンダングサで覆われます。約百年前に北アメリ カから日本に侵入したアメリカセンダングサは、
何種類かの昆虫にとっては、この時期を生きのびるための貴重な栄養を提供してくれる
良きパートナーでもあり ます。

　I took a picture of the Mt.Fuji. The top of the mountain has already covered with snow. In this season the one area of the back gate of Fuji Sacred Heart is filled with the Devils Large Beggarticks which invaded Japan from Ｎorth America about one hundred years ago. The invader is also a good partner for some insects because they can live in this season by the nutrition from the flowers of the plants.

ハエトリグモに出会いました。ハエトリグモ科のクモは世界中に約5000種いると言われます。
写真のクモはネコハエトリという種類ですが、他にもたくさん のハエトリグモが不二聖心には生息しています。
下の写真は、デーニッツハエトリと言い、2010年5月5日に撮影しました。日本には、ネコハエトリを
闘わせて遊ぶ文化があり、関東地方の一部の地域では、その遊びをホンチ遊びと呼んでいます。

　I found a jumping spider. The jumping spider family contains more than 500 genera and about 5000 species. We have a traditional culture of spider-fighting in some regions in Japan. Mature males of this species are often used in Kantoh area , where the play of spider-fighting is called honchi in local dialect.

　夏にたくさんの花をつけたアンネのバラがまた咲き始めました。アンネの父が日本に送った一本のバラが
平和と和解を願う人々の手によって日本のたく さんの都市に広がり、その中のいくつかが不二聖心に
咲いています。不二聖心のアンネのバラも一本一本がそれぞれの物語を持っています。

　The roses named the 'Souvenir d'Anne  Frank'  blooms near the retreat house in Fuji Sacred Heart. Years after the war, Otto Frank, Anne's father, sent a rose  named the 'Souvenir d'Anne Frank' to Japan. First nurtured there by Mr Yamamuro, it now blossoms and grows in the gardens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and many Japanese cities. They were planted  by the people who are eager for peace and reconciliation. The roses in Fuji Sacred Heart have their own stories.
